Mezcal Montelobos Joven is an artisanal mezcal made in Santiago Matatlán Oaxaca that exclusively uses certified organic maguey espadín. Mezcal Montelobos was born from the vision and passion of Iván Saldaña, an expert in maguey and mezcal, faithfully respecting traditional production methods, the sustainability and the quality of life of the communities and families that have produced this drink for generations.
The result is a product of balance and extraordinary complexity thanks to a perfect integration between the flavors of agave, notes of fermentation and smoke.
Mezcal Montelobos is produced by Casa Montelobos, a 100% Mexican company dedicated to promoting, educating, and marketing mezcal.
TASTING NOTES:
Appearance: Bright white when exposed to light. In the glass it shows good unctuousness and good body.
Taste: Surprisingly complex, loaded with fruity and herbal notes such as anise, banana, pineapple, and green asparagus. Accompanied by a harmonious integration of smoke and acetone. In the background appears grass, green agave and flower of cementario.
Pairing: Mezcal Montelobos transports the taster to a rainy sunset in a forest next to a smoky campfire. Perfect with fish, shellfish and meat.
