Espolon Reposado Tequila is made with 100% Blue Weber Agave aged between 3 and 5 months in American oak barrels with a slight charred touch that gives it more complex characteristics, giving it a unique touch. With over 50 years of distilling experience combined with the art of making tequila, the owner's goal is to create a tequila so good he'd be proud to share it with the world, and Espolón is the result.
Made only with 100% Blue Weber Agave, harvested manually at the moment when the pineapples have the perfect point of sugar. The water with which it is produced is completely natural, it comes directly from a well 250 meters away, so all the water is completely pure, giving it the essence of Jalisco. Master Tequilero Cirilo requires a smooth, delicate but complex flavor profile with notes cooked sweets.
Brick ovens would produce too much smoke and diffusers would not caramelize the agave enough to give it those sweet notes that are needed, so a custom method was created to achieve it. Master Tequilero Cirilo combines the best cuts from both distillations to make a bold, balanced and accessible white tequila. Each distillation adds unique notes to the flavor profile. The pot still brings earthy, mineral, herbaceous, vegetal and spicy flavors, while the column still gives us fruity, sweet, creamy, caramelized and fresh flavors of the agave.
Tequila Espolòn Reposado, at heart, is a tribute to the culture Mexican. It borrows from the past and gives it a modern twist. Each label tells a story from Mexico's rich history. Each one captures a different moment, but all pay homage to a true hero: José Guadalupe Posada. Posada was a 19th century artist and engraver, a true pioneer and a bit of a rebel. His most famous work, the skull (skulls), made a powerful commentary on the social injustices of his time.
